Another road to travel for me,
not straight ahead ... not easy to go.
No clue what may lay behind the next curve,
the next valley to come ...
walking onwards on the open road,
my head high and my things shouldered.
So you can see me - the lonesome wanderer on my road to travel.
Feet clutching on the pavement I stroll alone, up and down where the road will lead me.
Through deep valleys and up over the highest mountain tops,
passing villages, cities and lonely farm houses ...
resting at picturesques places, sleeping in the field ...
Walking onwards on the open road,
my head high and my things shouldered.
A soft song upon my smiling lips,
a wave and a smile for every passer-by,
a tear for every single sunrise and a sigh for the glorious sunsets.
So you can see me - the lonesome wanderer on my road to travel.
